But, it's time to get back on track. Please visit my professional blog site, www.fountaininstitute.blogspot.com. I will begin a series on Building Effective Teams in Real time and other series that will follow.

I look forward to your comments and reactions!!

On this site, I will be addressing issues related to Women in the Workplace!! So check back every few days and share with me your reactions!!

Cultural Sensitivity Global Marketing

For almost twenty years of corporate globalization efforts, there is a struggle to find managers who are effective and confident in the rapidly growing global economy. The lack of Cultural Sensitivity or Cultural awareness, the lack of experience among managers in dealing with diverse overseas employees and business partners and the lack of cultural experience is increasing.

The preparation and development of effective managers is pivotal to the global marketing of any company or organization. Every country has different nuances, specific needs and challenges, and cultural differences.
There are steps that companies and managers can take to build a stronger, global marketing team.

The main focuses are: (1) to develop a clearer understanding of the challenges or managing people across borders. (2)to instill in the new global managers an awareness of and appreciation of the vast differences among the cultures that they do business with and (3) to give global managers the tools and support they need to succeed.

As many of you know, I have had amazing opportunities to work in China, the Soviet Union, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica and throughout Europe. Each and every business culture is different. Then, my citizen diplomacy skills were sharpened during my time with the foreign embassies in Washington D.C. during the implementation of my project, “TRANSITION INTO AMERICAN CULTURE”. The need for global management training is not just needed in large corporations but in medium and small businesses, also.

I will continue on my next blog to discuss “The Yawning Cultural Chasm”/

A "by chance" Coffee Shop Meeting

I had the most amazing time one afternoon as I sat in my favorite coffee shop, Java Jo's, in Berlin, Ohio. I come in to enjoy the atmosphere while I read my emails, put together proposals, prepare for my coaching clients....etc. I had noticed this beautiful young woman with this gorgeous long hair who was having coffee with a friend. She was there every day that I came in after that first Sunday after noon and I assumed she was from our area. After a few days, of seeing here there and watching her, I made conversation with her to find that she is not only beautiful and elegant but intelligent, accomplished and very articulate!!! She shared with me that she was from Canada and I believe she said she had already completed her Ph.D. in Psychology but she is back in Medical School now at the University of Ottawa...to become a medical doctor...I was so taken by her beautiful spirit, a sense of calmness and assurance of who she is and where she is going. I wanted to talk with her the next few days but came in at a different time each day and didn't see her again. But, she is one of those people that one meets along life's journey that truly stands out and leaves an impact. I think I will see SANDRA from Canada again one day!!! Perhaps, during a workshop or speaking engagement or...in a coffee shop somewhere in Canada or who knows...in Berlin, Ohio?!! I think that just as life is not an accident, the ones we meet along the way are not just "accidents" either...it is an act of design...the purpose may be just for that meeting, to bless or be blessed by someone, or the purpose may be a future endeavor...life is amazing that way, isn't it? So to Sandra, wherever you are, IT WAS A PLEASURE MEETING YOU!!

Professional Woman Network Author's Conference

Well, here I am in Louisville, Kentucky to attend the PWN author's conference with 20 of some of the most outstanding professional women (and one man!!!) in the nation. We are all a member of a very special group and that is, contributing author to a library of books that address a huge number of issues!!!

Yesterday, I was a guest on Magnolia Radio out of Orlando, Florida and was televised via internet ...I'll have that footage link up on my site in a few weeks!!! For now, you can listen to my radio commentator work or go to www.modernsage.com and read my article on "LIVING A LIFE OF PURPOSE". However, my focus here at this conference is our Professional group of books.

These books are available through my website, pwnbooks.com and amazon.com. I am very excited to hear all the new ideas as I begin my new marketing venture(s)

I have been researching for hundreds of hours, meeting with internet sales specialists and have developed a multi-faceted marketing plan that has proven to be very successful. I have TWO WORKSHOPS SCHEDULED FOR ANYONE who would like to develop a sales site that will actually produce income and maintain the INTEGRITY OF YOUR NAME, YOUR BUSINESS and PROMOTE YOUR IMAGE!!

I'll have more information on the conference in detail later. For now, I am sending personal invitations to PWN members but will open it up to all professional women soon. Both of these conferences will be held in the heart of Ohio's Amish Country, with rolling hills and pastoral setting but in a very upscale hotel that offers spa services, complete gym, swimming and an in house movie theater!!

Email me at jaynefm@hotmail.com to find out more and watch my web site in the next few weeks for more information. You can purchase that conference through my site.

Keynote Address, May 14, 2008

It is my privilege to speak at the upcoming Regional Meeting of the NorthEast Ohio Nurses Association. They have asked me to speak on "Overcoming Obstacles to Positive Self-Esteem". As I was thinking about this group, I recalled the first large group of professionals that I was asked to address...the Professional Woman Network International Conference in 2005. Before, I stepped out on the stage, I thought to myself...what am I doing here? What do I have to say to these amazing, accommplished, professional women that is going to mean anything? There they were: CEO's of their own companies, Certified Trainers, Professional Speakers, Doctors..but,

I stopped and said a little prayer...I asked God to speak through me to the person or persons who really needed to hear what I had to say. In the beginning, we laughed as I introduced myself through my stories and then, I got down to business. Half way through my presentation, I saw tears in the eyes of many of these professional women...and at the end, there was a long line waiting to speak to me personally and told me how my talk had touched them to their core.

Yes, we are professionals...we work so hard....we have families, problems with our children, our husband, our friends but, we put on our professional dress, our professional face and head out the door every morning...all with personal needs....

I look forward to speaking tomorrow because I have added something new to this talk...something so powerful in my own life, that I can't wait to see what impact it has on this audience. I am introducing the "science" behind positive thinking and positive words....I am mentioning the book that Oprah has given so much credibility to, THE SECRET, and then introducing the science behind it...and for those people of faith, the Biblical principles that back it up!!

Let me know what you think about Words...the impact they have had in your life...I'll let you know in a few days how this group responded!!
